 Michael is in his second spell at MTV Telecom having
returned to the company four years ago after a short
spell with Crane Telecommunications.
“My role as product Manager for the Avaya IP Office
involves a great deal of liaison with the vendor and
ensuring that the MTV Telecom sales team and our channel
partners are fully briefed on all the latest
developments on the products.
I am also responsible for the IP Office sales targets.
Incentives and promotions are key motivators for both
groups and in my opinion the incentives that work best
are those where the rewards can be ‘spent; by the
recipients on whatever they want. For example, winning
£500 in Bonus Bonds is great for the individual. On the
other hand, taking the same value against a technical
course is beneficial to the resellers.
MTV Telecom is a very dynamic company to work for and we
have a great product range. The working environment is
great and there always seems to be a buzz about the
place. It’s good to be selling the latest technology and
draw satisfaction from the job or resolving reseller
issues.
Challenges include making sure the team and channel has
up to date information and recognising that not all
resellers have the same skill sets.”
